Deployment Options

To be successful in a distributed organisation, a budgeting/planning cycle requires input from a wide variety of sources. This means that the software must be able to be deployed in such a way as to enable this to occur. Additional Planning modules provide user access locally, over a network, or remotely via the web:

BusinessObjects Professional Edition

The full functionality client/server installation provides all the features of the software in a pure Excel environment. Easily accessible by administrators and users alike.

BusinessObjects Planning Web Checkout

For the road warrior or disconnected user, Web Checkout allows a user to download their planning workbook to a local source and work on it without being connected to the network before uploading the completed workbook to the central repository.

BusinessObjects Planning Web Interactive

Web Interactive uses a Java spreadsheet application that is accessed from a Web Browser with no Excel requirement. A persistent network connection must be maintained and data saved is immediately viewable in reports.

BusinessObjects Planning Web Forms

This option provides web access with zero footprint meaning that budgets can be worked on anywhere that web access is available. Data saved is sent directly to the planning database.

BusinessObjects Planning Web Reports

A web browser interface that allows for the execution of reports and the display of results in either HTML, Excel or PDF formats.

Third Party Thin Client

Business Objects Planning has been used extensively in Citrix™ and Terminal Services environments in the past for those with a dispersed user-base and the necessary hardware.
